On April 8, 2011, the first Disney theme park project in Chinese mainlandand the sixth in the world started construction in Pudong New Area. Five years later, on June 16, 2016, Shanghai Disneyland officially opened. Over the past ten years, Shanghai International Tourism Resort, including Shanghai Disneyland, has achieved a magnificent transformation from scratch.

In order to commemorate the tenth anniversary of construction and the fifth anniversary of the opening of the park, Shanghai Disneyland will launch a series of celebratory activities starting from April 8th, which will continue throughout the year.

On May 11, 2020, Shanghai Disney Resort reopened after the epidemic, becoming the first Disney park in the world to reopen.
