DXP-604, the new neutralizing antibody for the novel coronavirus has been approved for compassionate emergency use in Beijing, said Prof. Xiaoliang Xie.

Xie is the winner of the 2015 Albany Medical Center Prize in Medicine and Biomedical Research. The antibody developed by Xie’s team is being used for 14 COVID-19 patients at Beijing Ditan Hospital.

The discovery of the neutralizing antibody DXP-604 provides new ideas for coping with the COVID-19 epidemic. Many experiments conducted by the team have proved that the Delta strain may sometimes make DXP-593 escape or be omitted, while DXP-604 does not escape.

The research team is ready to launch DXP-604 globally.
