As more young people choose to get married on Double 11 (Singles’ Day, which falls on November 11), a marriage administration office in Pudong is offering Chinese-style clothes and activities for the newly-weds to try on and take photos.
In the office, people can get dressed up as “wuxia couples” and make DIY hand-painted fans and bookmarks to celebrate the big day in their life in a traditional Chinese way.
“We put on the chivalrous clothes and shoot the photos. I feel like I am wielding the sword and walking around the world. Now I have more courage for the future road of marriage!” said a young lady who made the first reservation for a photo shoot in the marriage office.
