“There are myriads of lights on in such a big city as Shanghai, and we want to leave a lamp on for the families of severely ill children,” said a children’s hospital in Shanghai.
Starting from last year, the Children's Hospital of Fudan University has been providing free accommodation for kids’ families who came to Shanghai for treatment. Located on Shuying Rd in Minhang, the residence is a temporary home for the families. Over 3,500 nights of accommodation have been provided to nearly 400 families. This year, the hospital also got the residential buildings renovated so as to create a better and more positive living environment.
People have given a thumbs-up for the warmth and kindness of the hospital, hoping the model can be promoted across the nation.
There are donations and sponsors behind the renovation project which is called “Little Sunshine”: When a child in a family falls ill, it is like the sun going out. Here, people from different corners of the country bring with them a glimmer of light, and the families that have lost their light will then be lit up.
