From Yuqiao Station to South Changjiang Rd Station, the North section of Metro Line 18 is to start initial operation by the end of the year. Previously, the South section started initial operation in late 2020.

Stations along the line have no ceiling decorations, instead being imbued with an industrial style. The walls are also unique. At Danyang Road Station, which is deemed the most beautiful station on Metro Line 18, people will see that it seems to have been divided into two parts: one is the past of Yangpu and the other, the present.

There are a total of 18 stations along the North section of Metro Line 18. Some of the line passes through several universities in Shanghai, including Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Tongji University. Among them, Exit 1 of Fudan University is the first metro station exit set up in a university in the Chinese mainland.
