A girl from Shanghai called Leona is telling everyone that even people with hearing impairments can do stand-up comedy.
Leona shared her story on a variety show. “If an ordinary person can become an Internet celebrity, and an AI figure can become an idol, then why is it impossible for a deaf person to be a stand-up comedian?” she asked.
The girl became deaf due to a fever at the age of two. When she was eight, she began to study at a special school and spent eight years learning to speak. One day she realized that her dream is to become an actress on the stage, so she began to show up on video platforms and even took part in TV shooting as an amateur actress. Now she has a career she loves and uses herself as an example to encourage others.

Her participation in the stand-up comedy variety show made her go viral on the internet again. But few knew that she had practiced thousands of times. “I want to serve as a bridge so that everyone can understand the deaf and mute population, and the deaf and mute population can also integrate into the general population,” said Leona.
