The Chinese character “Li” means beginning. Lichun is the first of the 24 solar term of a year, heralding the beginning of spring. Winter gives way to spring and gentle breezes and warm sunshine begin to mingle with the chill winter air.
According to traditional beliefs, Yang qi is generated and all things on earth begin to grow. After the storage in cold winter, yang qi also begins to be generated in the human body.
A recommended traditional exercise at the beginning of spring is Sanjiao meridian sinew of Hand-Shaoyang, which starts from the ring finger and extends to the shoulder and neck along the outer side of the arm and is connected to the side of the head.
By practicing the exercise of the beginning of spring, the human body can adapt to the changes in the environment and become healthier.
