Go behind the scenes of athletes training: the documentary “Snow Dream” will premiere on February 8

With the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics already in full swing, a documentary “Snow Dream” reflecting on the development of Chinese winter sports, will be released on Dragon TV's boutique documentary channel at 10pm tonight.

Launched by the Shanghai Radio and Television Documentary Center, the documentary specially invites the Australian host An Long to observe the story behind China's first hosting of the Winter Olympics from his international perspective. From professional athletes to ordinary people, An Long led the audience to explore the scientific training process of Jilin provincial short track speed skating team athletes, the secrets of aerospace technology to help develop winter Olympic snowmobiles, and focused on the current situation and development of youth sports training. From the three dimensions of comprehensive national strength, scientific and technological strength, and national sports quality, it displays the development of winter sports in China over the past ten years, and how the country has prepared for this international winter sports event.

The film team went to the provincial short track speed skating team of Jilin Province and interviewed professional athletes about their scientific training, safety protection and nutrition. By comparing the improvements in training and equipment of two generations of professional athletes in short track speed skating, it reflects on how the rise in national comprehensive has positively promoted the national sports level.

At the 703 Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology, the film team exclusively revealed how China's space technology is used in the independent research and manufacturing of snow carts. The Institute uses lightweight and high-strength space materials in the research and design of snowmobiles, and the upgrading of sports equipment manufacturing reflects the progress of China's scientific and technological strength.

The host An Long also interviewed A Bao, the captain of the Beijing youth women's ice hockey team, who is working hard for her Winter Olympics dream. Her growth experience shows that Chinese youth sports and leagues are becoming more and more professional. On the Changbai Mountain, An Long leads the audience to appreciate how Chinese elderly people and children enjoy skiing. From the training of youth winter sports talents to the active participation of ordinary people in winter sports, the quality and concept of sports in China is constantly improving through the "300 million people on ice and snow" campaign.

In addition to the in-depth live experience and observation of foreign host An Long, the documentary also focuses on foreign coaches in China, including the South Korean coach of the Jilin Province short track speed skating team and the Russian coach of the ice hockey team from Beijing 11th School, who tell the touching story of Chinese sports in line with international exchanges.

"Snow Dream" will also be broadcast on the Documentary Humanities Channel at 10pm on February 10.
