Shanghai has issued alerts for high temperatures over the next few days and for sun-loving water lilies such weather breeds fuller flowers. The water lilies in Shanghai's parks are currently in full bloom, but some varieties close in the afternoon, so visitors are advised to enjoy them in the morning.

In Jing'an Park, a pool of water lilies seems to be a richly coloured painting. The water lilies planted in Jing'an Park this year contain 13 tropical species and 15 hardy species, with a total of around 80 water lilies.
