Emissions deadline
From:Shanghai Daily  |  2017-06-09 12:29

ALL heavy-duty diesel trucks registered in the city will have to meet the China’s national “V emission standard” starting from July 1.

Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau said the standard had already been applied to all light-duty petrol cars and diesel coaches. Raising the emission standard for trucks would cut air pollutants.

The new standard would be applied to diesel trucks with a total weight over 3.5 tons, and would cut nitrogen oxides and primary particles by 15 percent and primary particles by 50 percent, said the bureau.

Heavy-duty diesel trucks bought before this month can still be registered, but owners are required to report them to the city’s environment authority.
