Spring Festival — a time all about family reunion — is around the corner. Over the 40 days of the Spring Festival rush, the city's railway system will send away over 13 million passengers, about 10 percent more than last year. That is more than one in two of Shanghai's population.
The peak passenger flow will be Tuesday, when around 498,000 passengers are expected to leave the city for their hometowns.
Shine photographers went out to catch moments of some of the millions making the annual pilgrimage home.
