From:Shine  |  2018-04-25 10:29

Passengers heading to the Pudong International Airport were advised to take the Meglev train as Metro Line 2 has suffered serious delays due to a signal glitch.

The malfunction affected the section from Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Station to Guanglan Road Station from 5:48am, the Metro operator said on its official microblog.

Shuttle buses were dispatched to take passengers from Longyang Road to Chuangxin Road M. Two exits at the Guanglan Road Station have been closed to restrict passenger flow. Commuters were advised to make detours to avoid taking Line 2, the operator said, adding it is fixing the problem but it might take some time.

Heavy congestion was seen at several stations of Line 2 as commuters were stranded during the morning rush hour.

Jane Feng, an office worker who works in Lujiazui area, had to take a bus and a shared bicycle to reach office after Line 2 was affected.

The Metro operator finally announced the problem was solved around 10:25am and normal operation would be slowly restored.
