Children’s books to go global
From:Shanghai Daily  |  2018-11-01 03:29

MORE children’s books written by Chinese authors will be available around the world thanks to international copyright agreements due to be signed at the upcoming China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair.

The fair runs from November 9 to 11 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.

Shanghai Century Publishing (Group) Co will have 17 varieties of domestic children’s books translated into foreign languages and released abroad. For example, “Schoolboy Jia Li and Schoolgirl Jia Mei,” by author Qin Wenjun, will have an Arabic version.

The East China Normal University Press said many of its science books were published overseas.

“This year we signed with HarperCollins Publishers for our mental calculation guidance books ‘Pass in Three Steps,’” said president Wang Yan.

Children’s books coming to the fair are also emerging in new forms.

A picture book on the myth of the woman warrior Hua Mulan uses both paper and augmented reality technology to let children enjoy a “four dimensional” story on smart devices.
