A mobile app based on the popular book series “100,000 Whys” will be released soon, Shanghai Daily learned during the China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair.

The original “100,000 Whys” contains questions and answers covering natural and social sciences, and is highly regarded as a child-friendly encyclopedia in China. It has been reprinted many times since the 1960s with updated content. A normal series has 10 books in different categories.

The new app will feature animations, interactive content and VR.

The app is free and will be monetized through advertising and value-added services.
