Ye Qing, 63, former Party secretary and chief procurator of the No. 1 Branch of Shanghai People’s Procuratorate, has been expelled from the Party and removed from his post, on charges of serious violations of discipline and law, city’s discipline inspection commission and supervisory commission said yesterday.

His case will be transferred to the judiciary.

According to the commissions, Ye conspired with the others to make their confessions identical and sent his son abroad while showing no intention of cooperating with the investigation.

Ye lied about his personal affairs to the Party, accepted banquets and trips and visited private clubs, against the eight-point frugality code.

He offered help for others in appointments, embezzled public and private money and property and accepted bribes.

Ye loved socializing with the owners of private enterprises and assisted them in bidding for projects.

He used any means to receive bribes, such as buying houses at very low prices, “borrowing” money and cooperating on business deals.

Ye was Party secretary and chief procurator at the No. 1 Branch of Shanghai People’s Procuratorate from 2008 to 2015.
