Unregistered stores to close down
From:Shine  |  2019-01-16 09:29

People walk past a restaurant and a convenience store which will be closed down as they are unregistered in Shanghai on January 15, 2019.

A catering business and a convenience store at the south gate of the People's Park in Huangpu District will be closed as the venues are not registered, district authorities said on Tuesday.

The two locations will become non-profit facilities, the district's urban management and law enforcement bureau said.

They were built as support for the park with revenues used to subsidize the management and maintenance of the park. Originally ticket offices when built in 2000, they were rented out whenadmission became free.

An overall renovation around the park involves closure of commercial facilities.

The park dates back to 1952. It is famous for its marriage market where parents attempt to find Mr or Mrs Right for their unmarried children.
