Driving test cheats are collared by traffic cops
From:Shine  |  2019-01-17 09:29

Three staff members of a local driving school and an agent who helped people to cheat in their driving tests have been charged by the Pudong New Area People’s Procuratorate for organizing cheating on national exams, prosecutors said.

On July 3 last year, traffic police found two men wearing special clothes which allowed them to cheat in the written part of the test.

One of the pair told police that he had failed the written test twice and had paid 1,100 yuan (US$160) to an agent who would help him pass.

Before the test, the agent dressed him and the other candidate in clothes with a cellphone concealed inside, a camera installed on the neckline and a micro earphone.

They were told to point the camera at the computer screen when the test began and then someone would tell them the answer through the earphone.

After an investigation, police traced Xu who was responsible for written tests at the driving school and found that he had colluded with the agent, Hu, and two other school staff, Zhu and Lu, to make profits from helping students cheat in exams.

Hu contacted the students and handed out devices to them. Zhu and Lu helped them get into the exam without a security check. The four had previously organized cheating for at least 1,000 students and the money involved was over 200,000 yuan.

Anyone who organizes cheating in national exams can expect to be sentenced to up to seven years in jail.
