Five members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee, including committee chairman DongYunhu, responded toonline questions about the city’s social governance yesterday afternoon.

One question for Dong was about the concept of the “city’s brain” and its functions. Dong responded: “A city’s governance requiresintelligentization. With the one-stop smart online platforms for government services and urban management, which serve as thecity’s ‘butlers,’ the efficiency of city governance is significantly improved.

“And the mobile apps of these platforms will be developed to make government affair procedures as convenient as online shopping for residents.”

HePinwei, another local CPPCC member,answered a question on traffic violations by food deliverymen. He said there should be strict management of food delivery providers, who should train their employees about traffic rules and cover it in their personal assessment.

Meanwhile, traffic police should enhance law enforcement and punish each violation.

He said there should be research into making delivery vehicles efficient and safe.

For non-motor vehicles, he and fellow political adviser Ma Chi proposed that more lanes be reserved for these vehicles.
