Shanghai should view the epidemic rationally and calmly, Li said, and fight the virus through science-based responses. The city should continue to curb the risk of imported cases, control the spread of the virus when the city is in normal operation, and strictly prevent infections caused by gatherings after the resumption of work.

Measures include optimizing the medical mechanism, from rapid detection and treatment to the construction of online fever consultation platforms. Ports and major roads, enterprises and communities should share information and work together in the anti-virus campaign.

Shanghai should also make different and precise prevention plans for different communities based on their conditions, and the whole society should take part in the anti-virus campaign.

The city’s medics sent to aidWuhanshould be granted more care, and their supplies should be guaranteed, Li said.

To support the orderly resumption of work, the city is to step up efforts in making favorable policies, Li said, ensuring supplies for key industries, making foreign business stay and helping small and medium-sized companies out of difficult times.

The city should also spare no effort in resuming major investment projects in fields including public health, new-generation information infrastructure and public transport.
