2 new imported COVID-19 cases reported in Shanghai

Two new imported coronavirus cases were reported in Shanghai on Tuesday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The first new case is a Bolivian national, who arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on August 2.

The second case is a Chinese working in Singapore who arrived in Shanghai on August 1.

The two patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while all the 62 close contacts on the planes have been put under quarantine and observation at designated place.

So far, of all the 410 imported cases, 392 have been discharged upon recovery and 18 are still hospitalized.

Two imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
