Two sunscreen samples among 20 tested failed the standard for excessive sun-screening agent, Shanghai's consumer council said on Tuesday.
TheJMsolutionand RE:CIPE brands were found to contain excessive levels ofethylhexylsalicylate, the council said.
Excessive amounts of sun-screening agents will irritate skin, it said.
The council tested the 20 samples based on their safety, effect and user experience, with products fromMistine, Coppertone Water Babies, Jmsolution, BananaBoatand RE:CIPE coming bottom of the list, it said.
