Local hospitals are reporting increased interest among people seeking plastic surgery or cosmetic therapy during the upcoming eight-day National Day holiday.
Double eyelid, nose reshaping and liposuction are the most popular surgeries that people look for, according to Dr Liu Xianchao, vice director of Shanghai Ren’ai Hospital’s Plastic Surgery Department.
“Facial reconstruction is also prevalent among young people,” he added.
The weeklong holiday provides appropriate time for rest and primary recovery.
Experts cautioned people should be objective about the effects of plastic surgery and make choices in line with their condition.
“Plastic surgery is not a complete cure for people who want to lose weight," Liu said. "Liposuction can help build a better shape but there is little effecton weight loss. People should have a healthy diet and proper exerciseinstead of putting all hope on liposuction."
