Shanghai, May 13- Shinsegae Duty Free recently came to Shanghai and held press conference to announce its new store to be opened in Myeong-dong, taking up an area of 15,138 m2.

As a brand-new store after Busan Store and Incheon Airport Store, Myeong-dong Store, breaking the old pattern of duty-free stores as pure shopping spaces, will become the first duty-free store to provide one-stop experience of shopping, tour, culture and relaxation.

The new store specially adds a "Kung Fu Panda" theme park which is one of Chinese favorite cartoon images on its roof. Sculptures Park on the 6th floor will exhibit many works of world-famous artists and Iconic Area will also exhibit the world-famous modern artist Carsten Höller’s work “Carousel”, creating a new culture space for visitors.

Through unique differentiation, Myeong-dong Store offers various shopping experience to its future customers. Besides numerous world-famous brands’ entering, the newly open store adds market place for South Korean traditional handicrafts and cultural products.

Proprieter of Shinsegae Duty Free noted that the newly opened store won’t be a pure shopping center, but a one-stop shopping space from shopping to cultural tourism, which will leading the duty-free industry in South Korea and Asia at large.
