Top 100 FFEs discussed social responsibilities and innovation

  Shanghai, October 28- Briefing on 2015 Top 100 FFEs in Shanghai & “Responsibility, Innovation, Sharing” FFE CSR Forum, co-organized by Shanghai Commission of Commerce (SCC) and China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI), kicked off this afternoon.

  2015 Top 100 FFEs and FFE CSR (China) Report Publishing Units were announced during the briefing. Shang Yuying, director of the SCC, gave an opening speech and also presented prizes to representatives of awarded enterprises together with Liu Jinping, chairman of the CAEFI.

  Liu Jinbing elaborated on the evaluation methods during the briefing, and gave analysis in various aspects including finalist threshold, Top 100 FFEs’ proportion in all the foreign economy, Top 100 FFEs’ industries involved, investment sources and locations.

  Four categories of Top 100 FFEs are including operation revenue, imports and exports, tax revenue and employment solved, according to Liu.

  Operation revenue of Top 100 FFEs in the first category totals 2.3402 trillion yuan, with an increase of 27.2 billion and a growth rate of 1.18%in comparison with the previous year. Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) Company, Shanghai Volkswagen Automobile Company and Shanghai General Motors Company respectively won the Top 3.

  Imports and exports of Top 100 FFEs in the second category total 164.5 billion USD, with a decrease of 9.5 billion USD, falling at a rate of 5.46%. The top three are respectively Chang Pegatron technology (Shanghai) Company, Work (Shanghai) computer Company and the British Transport Logistics (Shanghai) Company.

  Tax revenue of Top 100 FFEs in the third category totals 151.2 billion yuan, with a decrease of 17 billion yuan, falling at a rate of 10.11%. The top three are Shanghai Volkswagen Automobile Company, Shanghai General Motors Company and Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) Company respectively.

  Top 100 FFEs in the fourth category totally solved employment of 773,000 people, with an increase of 36,000 people and a growth rate of 4.88% in comparison with the previous year. The top three are China Eastern Airlines Company, Chang Pegatron technology (Shanghai) Company and Work (Shanghai) computer Company respectively.

  Compared with the previous year, three categories’ finalist threshold increased to a certain degree except imports and exports category. Finalist thresholds of the category of operation revenue, tax revenue and employment solved were respectively 7.35 billion yuan, 471 million yuan and 3,194 people.

  Statistics show that 2015 Top 100 FFEs play an important role in the city foreign companies and have huge impacts. They are only 0.24% of Shanghai’s foreign companies, but with 56.1% of the total amount of imports and exports, 40% of the total operation revenue and the total tax revenue, and 25.4% of the number of employment solved.

  Notably, 2015 Top 100 FFEs have much more diverse investment sources in more than 20 developed European, American and Asian countries and regions, including Germany, Switzerland, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Italy, the US, Singapore and Japan, etc.

  Liu also mentioned that Pudong New Area, with the largest absolute value of company numbers, operation revenues and tax revenues, enjoys obvious guiding effects. It accounted for 50% or so in the total revenue and tax especially.

  Later this afternoon, Zhang Rongjie, vice chairman of the CAEFI and Zhang Jing, CSR Manager Club secretary and vice president of External Affairs, Mary Kay (China) presided over the “Responsibility, Innovation, Sharing” FFE CSR Forum.

  Yu Zhihong, president and chief editor of China WTO Tribune Magazine, was invited to give an academic speech. Senior executives from Eaton, Unilever and Metro were invited to share their ideas and experience in environmental protection, responsibility & innovation and care for employees.

  Besides, Representatives from China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Company, United Technologies, United Nations Development Program and other well-known enterprises were also invited to interact with experts from CSR Manager Club to discuss how to promote enterprises to better perform social responsibilities and achieve sustainable development.
