斯里兰卡驻沪总领事：“海丝之国”热盼中国投资者，于杨浦合作潜力大

The Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, together with district governments has from the year of 2017 started hosting the "FAO Int'l Cooperation Promotion Series" to further enhance exchange and cooperation between Shanghai and places around the world. The first event was themed "Internationalized Shanghai: Heritage and Innovation on the Yangpu Waterfront" and took place in the Shanghai Fashion Center along the Yangshupu riverside.

2017年起，上海市人民政府外事办公室携手各区政府，举行“上海外事对外合作系列推介活动”。3月22日，首次推介活动以“国际化的上海：杨浦滨江传承创新”为主题，亮相于杨树浦滨江的上海国际时尚中心。

The textile industry and education are two potential areas for cooperation between China and Sri Lanka in Yangpu District.
关于杨浦，斯中两国在纺织业和留学生领域合作潜力大。

Sri Lanka, rich in black tea and jewels is a South-Asian island country on the Indian Ocean. It means "land of happiness" or "promising and prosperous land" in Sinhala, the official language of the country. Sri Lanka is one of the important countries on the Maritime Silk Road.

斯里兰卡，位于印度洋海上的南亚岛国，盛产红茶与宝石，在其官方语言僧伽罗语中意为“乐土”或“光明富庶的土地”。斯里兰卡是海上丝绸之路上的重要国家。

The Consul General of Sri Lanka in Shanghai, Lakshitha Ratnayake was interviewed by Eastday.com during this promotional event held in Yangpu District on March 22, 2017. He talked about the present situation relating to cooperation between China and Sri Lanka in the areas of investment and trade, tourism and the Maritime Silk Road. He also offered his views on future prospects for cooperation.

在3月22日的杨浦区对外合作推介活动中，斯里兰卡驻上海总领事拉克士塔·若特纳亚克（Lakshitha Ratnayake）接受东方网专访，就经贸、旅游、海上丝绸之路等领域介绍了中斯两国交往合作的现状，也对未来合作前景谈了自己的看法。

"In the last three years, the number of Chinese tourists traveling to Sri Lanka has increased by more than 300%", stated Mr. Ratnayake. He also said that Sri Lanka has something unique to offer holidaymakers, like its beaches, wildlife, historical sites, tea culture and jewelry industry, which all appeal to Chinese people. He added that it is convenient for tourists as there are 7 flights a week from Shanghai to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

“在过去的三年中，到斯里兰卡旅游的中国游客数量增长超过300%”，总领事介绍说，斯里兰卡旅游业有其独到之处，众多海滩、野生动物、古迹、茶文化、珠宝……这些对中国游客很具吸引力。此外，目前上海到斯里兰卡首都科伦坡的航班一周有7班，对旅行者来说很便利。

As one of the important countries on the Maritime Silk Road, Sri Lanka attaches much importance to exchanges and cooperation between the two countries on the “One Belt and One Road” Initiative. The Consul General noted that Sri Lanka is located on the main sea route, so cargo can be easily transported to India, Pakistan, the Middle East, East Asia, the United States and other parts of the world. Besides natural ports, Sri Lanka has two big commercial ports in Colombo and Hambantota, which closely connect the two countries.

作为海上丝绸之路上的重要国家之一，斯里兰卡重视两国在“一带一路”倡议上的交流与合作。总领事表示，斯里兰卡位于世界主要航运线上，若在斯里兰卡建立基地，能让产品轻松到达印度、巴基斯坦、中东、东亚、美国等世界各地。除了众多天然港口外，斯里兰卡还拥有两大商业港口：科伦坡港口与汉班托塔港口，都可与中国进行紧密联系。

“The Sri Lankan government allocated a special piece of land for Chinese investors. It is free of charge”, the Consul General said that Shanghai and the regions along the Yangtze River Delta have strong economic strength; Sri Lanka really expects more Chinese investment in the country and more cooperation with China in the field of international trade.

“斯里兰卡政府专门为中国投资者圈了一块免费的地，供中国人来斯投资使用”，斯里兰卡总领事表示，上海及整个长三角区域经济实力都非常强，斯里兰卡欢迎更多中国人去投资，期待与中国在国际贸易领域有更多合作。

It is known that Sri Lanka currently has no projects in Yangpu District. However, the Consul General viewed that textile and education industries are two potential areas for cooperation between the two nations. A number of colleges are located in the district, like Fudan University, Tongji University and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. He pointed out that a lot of Sri Lanka students are studying here, which not only promotes the bilateral relationship but also helps future economic development.

谈到杨浦区，总领事说，斯里兰卡目前还未在该区设有项目，但在他看来，未来在这一区域，斯中两国在纺织业和学生交流领域具有合作潜力。杨浦区聚集了复旦、同济、上理工等众多高校，斯里兰卡有很多学生在同济大学求学，这不仅能促进双边关系，对未来经济也很有帮助。
