“Green shipping bags” have been introduced in package pick-up points across Shanghai and Nanjing.

Colored green and white, these plastic bags are made from degradable and eco-friendly materials. Plus, no tape is needed to seal them, thus causing no pollution to the environment.

The new shipping bags are part of an environmental protection campaign led by Cainiao, a logistics company and a subsidiary of the Alibaba Group. By working with some major logistics service providers including BEST Express and TTK Express, the company is now making great efforts to promote the use of environmentally-friendly shipping bags at thousands of package pick-up points in Shanghai and Nanjing. 

More than two million parcels wrapped in these bags were delivered by August 3rd, according to some statistics.
