Shanghai’s first rooftop stadium to open in September
By:Wu Qiong  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2017-08-14 08:53

Boasting Shanghai’s first rooftop stadium, the Jing’an Sports Center is going to open its doors to the public in late September with a new look.

Covering an area of 61,733.8 square meters, the sports center is built based on the original Zhabei Stadium and relocated near the Wenshui Road overpass.

Looking from the above, you may find the stadium no different from any others in Shanghai. But it is actually built on the rooftop of a 13-meter-tall building, and has a standard football pitch, six running tracks and up to 750 seats, making it a new landmark of Shanghai.
