This summer, a special exhibition at the Shanghai World Financial Center has been a hit since its opening in June.
The exhibition, titled “Genesis,” provides Chinese visitors an opportunity to get a close look at the renowned frescos of Renaissance art master Michelangelo Buonarroti. It features full-size replicas of the artist’s epic works at the Sistine Chapel: “Genesis” and “The Last Judgment.”
Differing from conventional art shows, the exhibition creates a relaxing atmosphere for visitors. People are free to lie down on the floor to have a better view of the frescos on the ceiling. In the meantime, they can scan a QR code to listen to an audio guide for a more in-depth tour. Or they can rent a pair of AR (augmented reality) glasses to engage themselves in a dynamic interaction with the masterpieces.
Shanghai is the first stop on the exhibition’s Asian tour. For people who want to catch a glimpse of Michelangelo’s world of art, the exhibition runs until October 7, 2017.
