Shanghai, October 9- China’s Transport Ministry revealed yesterday that the country’s transportation operations stably and orderly during the Golden Week holiday.

The total number of road passenger traffic reached 561 million person-times from October 1 to 7, essentially unchanged from last year.

During the holiday, the number of waterway passenger traffic in major areas of the country was 15.23 million, up 1% year on year.

Statistics show that during the Golden Week holiday, the demand for road traffic grows steadily. From October 1 to 7, the traffic volume of China’s tollway reaches 33.6 million, with a year-on-year increase of 13.56%.

Among them, the volume of small passenger vehicles was 29.1 million, accounting for 92.77% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 17.29%.

According to preliminary statistics, from October 1 to 7, the number of large and medium-sized service buses reaches 840,000, providing 2.14 million seats.

Among them, there are 95,000 rural passenger lines, 1.03 million daily. During the holiday, 112,300 ships with 5.48 million seats are also provided.
