The twentieth Harbin International Teachers and Students Painting and Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition and the National Children’s Painting Contest was opened in Shanghai Weile Educational and Cultural Garden on October 16.

Themed at “nature is speaking”, the activity attracted children’s art institutes and painting enthusiasts from across the nation.

At the site, Liu Kaixiang, the president of the China Youth Arts Development Association made a presentation to introduce a China story course.

According to Liu, the coordinated development of children’s learning ability, creativity and practical ability is more vital than the strengtheningof a single learning ability. After two years of course research, a china aesthetic course system which combines teaching with entertainment has been developed for children in kindergarten through twelfth grade(K12).

Committed to cultivating the comprehensive quality of creativity, concentration and confidence of children aged from 3 to 12, the framework involves the teaching of Chinese culture and history with western aesthetics combined and is characterized by the blending of learning, creation and practice. It receives popularity among the art lovers.
