Installation
The 3.2-meter-wide, 3.5-meter-high “Wall Paintings on the North Wall of the Tomb Tunnel, Jiuyuangang, Xinzhou City” was revealed with the help of 14 staff members, and beside was “Shuiquanliang Tomb Wall Paintings, Shuozhou City”.
The “Ancient Wall Paintings from the Shanxi Museum” exhibition will start at the Shanghai Museum on November 29 and end in March next year, which is of the largest scale in terms of ancient wall painting exhibitions nationwide.
Wall Paintings on the North Wall of the Tomb Tunnel, Jiuyuangang, Xinzhou City
89 representative wall paintings from the Northern, Song, Jin, Yuan dynasties collected by the Shanxi Museum have been selected for the exhibition, and it’s the first public outing for most of them.
The Exhibition designers have tried a lot of new technologies and methods for better presentation.
Shuiquanliang Tomb Wall Paintings, Shuozhou City
Ten staff members got involved in the exhibition installation for three weeks. Previously, the Shanghai Museum even removed the south gate after closing to get “Wall Paintings on the North Wall of the Tomb Tunnel, Jiuyuangang, Xinzhou City” in, which the Museum has done for the first time in 21 years since its opening.
