“Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” the latest and the longest entry in the Star Wars franchise, is finally coming to China’s cinemas. 

On December 20 at the Walt Disney Grand Theatre at Shanghai Disney Resort, stars Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley, along with director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman, greeted fans at the China premiere of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

Members of the 501st Legion, a worldwide Star Wars fan club, dressed up as Imperial Stormtroopers and walked the red carpet. To the surprise of many people, Louis Koo, a diehard Star Wars fan, also showed up in Shanghai for the premier.

The film opened in U.S. theaters on December 15 and will open in Chinese theaters on January 5, 2018.
