Covering a land area of 200 square meters, the museum located in Shanghai Jiading Huajiang Elementary School is also a comic strip and cartoon innovation center. It was inaugurated last week and is now open to the public.

Home to more than 300 exhibits, the innovation center is divided into four areas which give a vivid presentation of the past and present of Chinese comic strips and cartoons by creating an immersive world. On display are modern comic strips created by prominent comic artists like Feng Zikai and Zhang Leping, stamps and postcards featuring cartoon characters, and the replicas of Chinese cartoonists’ handprints. It is said that all the exhibits are the collection of different publishing houses and collectors.

In addition, through various forms of experience, visitors to the innovation center can have a chance to better understand the whole process of cartoon production, including editing, publishing, shooting, dubbing, as well as post-production.

According to Shanghai Jiading Huajiang Elementary School, as the museum and innovation center is located in the school, comic strip and cartoon lessons will be integrated into future educational programs.
