Guided by Shanghai Press and Publication Bureau and co-organized by several original literature websites of China Literature Ltd, the online literature-focused arm of China's tech conglomerate Tencent Holdings Ltd,the competition aims to encourage more excellent realism works to reflect on modern life in the era.

Compared with the first competition, this time it has a much wider participation with more than 8300 medium-long works from over 6700 authors of various industries collected.

Amid the maturation of Chinese network literature, realism works have been springing up.“At first, network literature leaves us an impression of fantasy, but now, many writers began to infuse real-lifeelements into the theme, making the network writing more diversified.” said Li Xiaoliang, deputy chief editor of Qidian, a website affiliated with China Literature Ltd.

According to Xie Jin, deputy chief director of Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House, network literature is like a rich ore,“Chinese network writers’imagination is much better than the traditional literature authors. Realism writing for them is expected to tap much potential.”
