Aside from cherry blossoms, there are many other spring flowers to enjoy in Shanghai. Jing’an District Tourism Bureau has released a VR tour guide for citizens to enjoy the 2018 Shanghai Xinhu Tulip Expo, which is claimed to be the biggest tulip exhibition in downtown Shanghai.

Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the event by scanning the QR code above.

Since the end of March, the tulips at the 2018 Shanghai Xinhu Tulip Expo have come into full bloom. Two million tulips encompassing 45 varieties are planted in five themed exhibition areas covering an incredible 40,000 square meters in total.

This year, for the first time ever, the Shanghai Xinhu Tulip Expo has introduced a new immersive tourism model. This integrates mobile tourism, panoramic views, an audio guide, an online film exhibition, supporting services and social media sharing so as to bring tourists an experience as rich and vibrant as the tulips. In the future, the VR tour guide will enable people to enjoy year-round flower viewing.

The expo will run through April 7 at Daning Lingshi Park in Jing’an District.
