This new physical bookstore, established and run by the Shanghai Century Publishing Group, is housed in a nearly century-old four-storey European-style villa, which was built in 1926 and was formally the residence of the patriotic General Feng Yuxiang. Famous poet Liu Yazi and his family also once lived there.

The first floor of the bookstore is intended for book display and as a reading zone, with a dedicated “study room” for readers and an  area for new books from the London Review Bookshop. The second floor is where the main entrance of the bookstore is located and provides lists of best-selling new books from home and abroad. The third floor is mainly used to display arts books and, along with the fourth floor, serves as a space for hosting various activities including arts exhibitions and reading and cultural activities.
