Latest planning for Shanghai Expo Cultural Park features equestrian performances

The latest planning for the Shanghai Expo Cultural Park has been revealed to the public. Our reporter has learnt from the Shanghai Municipal Planning, Land and Resources Administration that an equestrian park will be included as a part of the Shanghai Expo Cultural Park and become a new landmark of Shanghai.

The planning and construction of the Shanghai Expo Cultural Park is part of Shanghai’s efforts to improve its ecological system and space quality, as well as to carry on the spirits of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The Shanghai Expo Cultural Park, located to the west of North Changqing Road and to the north of Tongyao Road covers an area of 1.88 square kilometers along the eastern bank of Huangpu River.

The planning also incorporates a total of 2400 car parking spaces (including 800 parking bays for the Grand Theater). Moreover, the underground spaces of the Houtan station of Metro line 19, and the Grand Theater as well as the Equestrian Park will be inter-connected.
