Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, as a main transportation hub for the upcoming China International Import Expo, recently inspected its fire emergency response capability. 70 participants who are railway staffs and guard police have taken part in the activity.

The fire drill tested the participants' ability of locating a fire, extinguishing the initial fire, passenger evacuation, passenger rescue, police reinforcement, and other safety measures.

Located in Minhang District, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station is a major component of the Shanghai Hongqiao Integrated Transportation Hub. It is only 1.5 kilometers away from the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai), the main venue of the expo. It is only 1 to 2 hours’ journey to the surrounding cities in the Yangtze River Delta, and 4 hours to Beijing.

Since the railway station has a large waiting hall, lots of electrical equipment and a dense passenger flow, fire safety prevention is extremely important.
