Around 30 global moguls will gather in Shanghai for the 1st Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum which is to be held during the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE).

Business leaders, experts and scholars including Bill Gates, Jean-Paul Agon (chairman and CEO of L'Oréal), Jack Ma, Terry Gou (founder and chairman of Foxconn), and Justin Yifu Lin (former World Bank Chief Economist) will deliver speeches and share insights on the topics of “trade and openness”,“trade and innovation”, and “trade and investment”.

The theme of the Forum is “spurring new vitality of global trade, creating an open and win-win scenario”. Discussions will focus on promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, building an open world economy, and boosting trade innovation growth with trade in services, the digital economy and e-commerce. It will also strive to discover new engines for growth, and accelerate interactions concerning trade and investment, as well as sustainable development.

Consisting of an opening ceremony, three parallel sessions and the Hongqiao International Business Media and Think Tank Forum, the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum will kick off on the morning of November 5, the 1st day of the CIIE.
