“China speed is good!” said Martin Holzheid, a German manager who has come to Shanghai to assemble the largest exhibit to be on show at the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE).

Martin Holzheid gave his thumbs up for what he humorously termed “China speed” after the preliminary assembly of the Taurus milling machine was finished last Monday.

The giant machine, which is expected to cover 200 square meters of exhibition space during the expo, is from German company Waldrich Coburg. Since its arrival in Shanghai, it has witnessed “China speed” from inspection and customs clearance, to transportation, unpacking and assembly.

The Chinese coordination team has offered many plans for optimization. For example, to save time when unloading the machine from the container, the Chinese team suggested lifting the container after removing the bottom panel, instead of removing the four panels, so that the German company can complete the established tasks ahead of the scheduled time. What’s more, to dispel Martin’s worries, the Chinese team used two cranes to lift the machine to ensure stability and efficiency.

It is reported that the machine will be installed on Tuesday and be unveiled to the public on time at the CIIE.
