CIIE: a window to Singapore
By:Wu Qiong  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2019-10-12 08:44

“CIIE is not only an open platform to present Singapore to China, but also a window that allows the world to know Singapore,” said Zhang Songsheng, President of the Singapore Business Federation. According to him, Singaporean companies were delighted with the fruitful results they reaped at the first CIIE held in Shanghai last November. For this year, a total of 84 enterprises and more than 300 business executives have confirmed their participation in the fair.

The enterprises, including DBS Bank, UOB Bank, PacificInternationalLines, PSA Singapore and Singapore Airlines, will exhibit their best products and technologies in a total exhibition area of 1,600 square meters. One third of the exhibitors took part in the first CIIE.

This is the second time for UOB Bank to take part in the CIIE, said Fu Maozan, Chairman and CEO of UOB Bank. The bank, as Fu said, hopes to utilize the platform to establish further cooperation with the Chinese market. It intends to showcase its integrated service network and cross-border financial solutions to more Chinese enterprises, institutions and high-net-worth individuals, as well as potential cooperation in terms of the fin-tech ecosystem.

Last year, Singaporean and Chinese enterprises signed 15 cooperative MoUs in business matchmaking meetings held during the CIIE, with a total worth of 152 million Singapore dollars. “We welcome Chinese companies to go global, so as to promote the regional inter-connection between ASEAN countries together with Singaporean companies,” said Zhang Songsheng.
