An AI interactive exhibition themed around childhood animation heroes opened in the Yuyuan Garden of Shanghai on October 18.

Jointly launched by Yuyuan Garden, the ShanghaiAnimationFilm Studio and Baidu, a Chinese tech giant, the exhibition adopts Baidu’s most advanced AI technology to provide an interactive experience with the classical Chinese animation characters including Mr Black, the Monkey King, the Calabash Brothers and Ne Zha.

At the exhibition, visitors can not only take photos with the hero characters, but also have a cool interactive experience. For instance, via the Virtual Reality (VR) technology, participants can role-play as a member of Mr. Black’s training camp to use the laser-gun to shoot criminals in outer space. They can also join in the escort of the Calabash Brothers to save their grandfather. Only by yelling “I will save grandpa”, will the voice recognition technology start the rescue game.

The exhibition is to last for one month.
