French luxury brands attending Expo in group

For the French businesses taking part in the upcoming second China International Import Expo (CIIE), not only have the number of exhibits and the exhibition area increased, but there are also many highlights that are worth mentioning, among which is the group premiere of French luxury brands.

In the high-end consumer goods section, luxury brand companies like Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) and Kering will showcase their products for the first time at the import expo, and it will also be the first time these brands have taken part in an overseas trade exhibition as a group.

LVMH was one of the earliest companies to confirm participation in the expo. It will showcase more than 10 brands, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Givenchy, Fendi, Novo, Bulgari and Hennessy. Many commodities will have their world or China premiere, and some will even contain Chinese elements. For example, Fendi will show a special bag whose design was inspired by Beijing’s Forbidden City. Hennessy will also present a cooperative work with artists specifically designed for the 2020 Chinese New Year.

Kering Group’s exhibition hall and booth, themed “Weaving a sustainable and fashionable future”, was especially designed by the world-renowned architect Ole Scheeren.

"China's economic take-off has brought about rapid development of the consumer market. Chinese consumers are increasingly demanding high-quality products from around the world," said Wu Yue, president of LVMH Greater China.

In Wu’s opinion, the import expo conveys the determination of the Chinese government to continue its high level of openness and he hopes that the expo will give more international brands access to Chinese consumers as soon as products are released.
