As the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) is just 100 days away, new brands on Tmall International, a B2C platform similar to Amazon that is part of Alibaba Group, are speeding up their preparations for their exhibition in China.

To accelerate Alibaba’s strategy announced at the first CIIE of helping global businesses to reach 200 billion-dollar-sales from Chinese importers in five years, the platform launched in May an incubation plan for large overseas makeup groups like L’Oréal, Johnson & Johnson, and Unilever to help them premiere new products at CIIE and realize sales revenue of over ten million yuan.

According to a person from Tmall International, overseas makeupgiants as well as small and medium brands are now actively preparing for the grand event, and a large amount of new imported brands will showcase their wares in the exhibition and then be launched on Tmall International.

Overseas companies are accelerating expansion in the Chinese market. Data shows that the growth rate of new overseas brands joining Tmall International in the first half of this year increased by 64% year-on-year.
