ANKARA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the undersecretary of the U.S. Embassy in Ankara on Monday over the U.S. decision to suspend visa services in the country, local Daily Sabah reported.

Turkey urged the U.S. embassy for a reversal of decision, calling for an end to the dispute between the two countries.

The U.S. Embassy in Ankara announced late Sunday the U.S. has suspended all non-immigrant visa services at its diplomatic facilities in Turkey.

Shortly after the U.S. move, the Turkish Embassy in Washington announced Turkey has suspended all visa services at its diplomatic facilities in the U.S. as a retaliatory response.

The tit-for-tat visa services suspensions between the two NATO partners exposed a deepening diplomatic rift.
