MADRID, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Spain's Socialist new prime minister, Pedro Sanchez, prioritized Europe and Spain's unity in new government, whose ministers were unveiled on Wednesday.

Sanchez announced the name of his ministers in a press conference after an official meeting with King Felipe VI. His appointments show a commitment to Spain's unity, Europe as well as science and feminism.

The new cabinet is made up of 17 ministries, four more than the previous government of the right-wing party, People's Party. The Socialist leader added the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Ministry of Public Function and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Sanchez's commitment to women can be seen in the large number of women in charge of ministries.

The appointment of Nadia Calvino as Minister of Economy shows a clear commitment to the European Union since until now, she was the Director-General for Budget at the European Commission.

Showing his commitment with expertise, Sanchez appointed Isabel Celaa as Minister of Education, who holds a degree in Philosophy, English Philology and Law and is an English language and literature professor.

The appointment of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell shows Sanchez commitment with Europe and Spain's unity.
