SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. state of Oregon reported 409 cases on Saturday, the third day in a row with more than 400 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, according to Oregon Health Authority.

The state reported an all-time high of 484 cases on Thursday and 425 cases on Friday.

Officials reported two new deaths on Saturday, bringing Oregon's death toll to 599. There have been 36,924 COVID-19 cases to date.

Oregon's rolling seven-day average for new known cases announced per day stands at 344.7 on Saturday, the health authority said.

The number effectively ties the record in late July of an average 345.4 people known to have been infected per day, according to a report by OregonLive.

Across Oregon as of Friday, the rolling seven-day positive test rate was 6.6 percent, meaning that an average of more than six out of every 100 people tested were positive for the virus, the report said. Enditem
