A man accused of killing his friend whom he suspected was having an affair with his girlfriend has been arrested for intentional injury following a warrant from prosecutors of Minhang District.

The suspect surnamed Yang stabbed his friend surnamed Yu on April 3 at the rental apartment where Yang and his girlfriend shared one room. while Yu and his wife shared another.

Yu had commented on Yang’s girlfriend, the suspect said, saying she was slimmer than Yu’s wife. That aroused Yang’s suspicions, prosecutors said.

His girlfriend said that she had undergone an induced abortion, Yang said he was convinced the unborn child belonged to Yu.

Overwhelmed by rage, Yang stabbed Yu repeatedly in the chest. Yu died after emergency treatment, prosecutors said.
