Representatives from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) visited Eastday.com in Shanghai on Oct. 29, 2015 and introduced its enrollment program in China and future development plans.

UCSC is a non-profit private university recognized by Chinese Ministry of Education. It is also the biggest private university in Europe with student population of 41,000, among which more than 2,900 are international students. UCSC offers 18 English-taught programs and over 250 Italian-taught ones.

It is known that the university plans to recruit 20 to 30 Chinese students next year. Mr. Michelangelo Balicco, UCSC International Operations Manager pointed out that they value quality rather than quantity. "We want good Chinese students and put them in the best positions for them", he said.

"We don't want make education business, thus, different from UK and US, UCSC won't charge Chinese students big fees, about 7000 to 8000 euros per year", Mr. Michelangelo added.

The UCSC representatives also introduced the two development plans of the university in China. One is about exchange students. "We have 4 to 5 Chinese partner universities and will select 5 to 20 Chinese undergraduates to exchange in UCSC. The learning period will be about one semester or one year", said Mr. Michelangelo.

The other plan is aimed at graduates. "UCSC has cooperation with lots of companies outside Italy, so we can introduce graduates to have their internship there".

Besides, the UCSC representatives visited Shanghai Caoyang No. 2 High School.
