In 2005, the Palace Museum welcomes its 80th anniversary. In order to celebrate it, the Palace Museum and the Shanghai Museum collaborate to hold an exhibition entitled "Great Classics: Ancient Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Palace Museum and the Shanghai Museum" in the end of 2005 at the Shanghai Museum. In this exhibition, total 103 masterpieces of ancient Chinese painting and calligraphy are presented, covering more than 1,000 years of the Jin, Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties.
